About Turtle


Turtle

Turtles are scaly animals are one of those four-legged reptiles. Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrate animals and have scales covering its body. This animal usually called by the name of this Testudinata easily recognizable because it has a hard shell and rigid. Turtles are dividing into three types: 1) sea turtle 2) freshwater turtle 3) tortoise. There are turtles are herbivores, carnivores, and omnivore. The tortoise is also called ancient animals as many fossils of ancient animals were found and estimated age of 220 million years ago. Turtles have longevity. The tortoise has many species, such as brazil turtle, leatherback turtle, Galapagos turtle.
Habitat
Turtles can live on land and water. Examples of the natural habitat turtle is sea, rivers, lakes, swamps, deserts, and grasslands. More turtles live on land than in water. While the freshwater turtle living in more water than on land. This type of turtle has a membrane so as not to drown in the water.
Behavior
Behavior between male turtle and female different. Male turtles eat more. If there are predators of turtles will be hidden in a hard shell. So predators will not be prey. The turtle is very happy to bask in the sun. The sun not only as a heat source for turtles but also as a source of full-spectrum light from the infrared to the ultraviolet that are beneficial to the turtles. Like turtles prey on insects. The turtle is very sensitive to objects that are considered to interfere with safety.
Appearance
Turtle has a dark green body with yellow lines and the lines have red spots on each side of the head. The tortoise has a rounded lower jaw. The radius of the rear legs of turtles connected by membranes like a duck because they are aquatic animals.  
The tortoise has a hard shell Turtles have no teeth. How to distinguish males with females is the males have longer claws on its forelegs. Cloaca on females is closer to the shell than the males.
Breeding
Turtle breeding with spawn (ovipar). A number of multiple items by more than one hundred eggs were placed every time laying eggs, usually on a sand pit on the river or the sea, and then dumped and left to hatch with the help of the sun's heat. Turtle eggs hatch after about two months (50-70 days) are stored in the sand. The sex of a turtle's child was born one of which will be determined by the temperature of the sand where the eggs are stored. In most species of turtles, the temperature is above the average habit will produce female turtles. And conversely, the temperatures below the average tend to produce many male turtles.
